By default, Discord is extremely restrictive with channel names. It forces all letters to be lowercase and automatically replaces any space with a hyphen (#general-chat). To break out of this boring structure, you need to use Unicode characters.
Because Unicode characters are processed differently by Discord's backend, they bypass these restrictions. This means if you copy a custom font from our generator, you can actually use uppercase letters, custom brackets, and unique symbols in your channel list!

There is a special character known as the "Hangul Filler" (U+3164). To the human eye, it looks exactly like an empty space. However, to Discord's computer code, it registers as a solid, valid letter.

It is important to understand the difference between Discord's native formatting and our generated fonts. Discord allows you to use "Markdown" to format chat messages. For example, typing **hello** makes the word hello bold, and typing *hello* makes it italic.
However, Markdown only works inside chat messages. You cannot use asterisks to make your username bold, or your channel names italicized. If you try, it will just display the asterisks. Yes! While Discord has strict rules for your actual underlying account "@username" (which must be standard characters), your "Display Name" and server-specific "Nicknames" fully support Unicode characters. You can safely paste any font from our generator into your Display Name.
Discord automatically replaces standard spaces with hyphens in text channels. To bypass this, you must use a special Unicode invisible spacer (like the Hangul Filler) or use aesthetic text joiners (like the middle dot `・`) to separate words elegantly.
Our font generator creates typography using black/white Unicode characters. To get actual colored text in Discord chat messages, you have to use Discord's native ANSI color codes within code blocks (using three backticks ```ansi). However, ANSI colors only work in chat, not in usernames or channel titles.
This is known as the "Tofu" error. It happens when a specific user's device (usually an older Android phone or an outdated browser) doesn't have the font files installed to read complex Unicode symbols.
